Brief Biography
Patrick is one of Australia’s leading non-fiction authors and an acclaimed documentary maker, broadcaster and public speaker. He has written 21 best-selling books includingThe Spirit of Kokoda, The Spirit of The Digger, Back From The Dead (on the Bali Bombing), Fromelles, The Coast Watchers, True Blue (the history of the NSW Police Force), biographies on Sir Peter Cosgrove and champion triathlete Greg Welch, and a series of inspirational books. Most recently, he wrote The Home Front (on the plight of our modern veterans) and Shining A Light (for the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide) .
On the screen, he created the format for Endemol Shine’s highly-acclaimed reality TV series In Their Footsteps, broadcast on the Nine Network, and the award-winning feature documentary, Kokoda … the spirit lives, (streaming on Amazon Prime) and The Home Front (streaming on 9NOW).
Patrick is an accomplished speaker and sought-after Master of Ceremonies.
He has worked with some of Australia’s leading corporations, including Telstra, CommBank, AMP, NSW Police Force, IPAC, MLC, the RSL & Services Clubs Association and the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.
